Hubballi, officially known as Hubli, is a major city in the Indian state of Karnataka and acts as the commercial hub of North Karnataka. Together with Dharwad, it forms the twin city area known as Hubballi–Dharwad, which is the second largest urban agglomeration in Karnataka after Bengaluru and has a rapidly growing population estimated at over 1.2 million in 2025.​Situated about 20 kilometers from Dharwad, Hubballi is recognized for its vibrant economy with thousands of small and medium industries, especially in textiles, logistics, engineering, and information technology. The city is well-connected by road, rail, and a modern airport and is famous for educational institutions as well as cultural diversity, reflected in its temples, mosques, and historic landmarks. Hubballi is also noted for its pleasant climate, active marketplaces, historic temples like Bhavani Shankar and Chandramouleshwara, and the scenic Nrupatunga Betta hill offering panoramic views of the city.
